We use a good quality vodka as the base spirit for this alternative twist on the classic SLOE Gin. Vodka being less domineering as a flavour, allows the true taste of the sloe to shine out.
The high concentration of fruit to vodka results in a sweet and fruity liqueur, tasting predominantly of aromatic cherry from the sloe, a hint of almond from the stone, a rounded finish and a strong warming glow.
Traditionally drunk neat either as an after-dinner digestif or as a warming shot on a chilly day, but fast becoming a popular summer cocktail base. Try adding chilled orange juice, crushed ice and the zest of an orange for a Sloe Driver.
